## The story

More than three Alaskas of power, planned for Prudhoe Bay.

Each lit bore is 100 MW.

Phase one is about the size of every power plant in Alaska combined. The full plan is more than three times it.

A borough's plant, for AI data centers.

The North Slope Borough and Twenty First Century Utilities (TFC) are developing North Slope Power to feed colocated AI data centers. The borough's own utility runs seven village plants, 21.4 MW in all.

The gas is already here.

Two outlets, two areas, two counts. Gas is already Alaska's main fuel for electricity, per EIA. In March the borough's mayor and TFC took the plan to CERAWeek in Texas.

TFC's proposal listed climate change among 10 North Slope challenges. Where it said how it would tackle each one, climate change got "N/A."

$6.2 million in.

A $1.2 million no-bid feasibility contract in November 2025. Another $5 million of public funds in March. Both as reported by the Alaska Current.

The terms aren't public.

That is the resolution behind the $5 million, as the Alaska Current quotes it. It says the Borough would "initially" keep that majority. The financial structure is not public.

Before the next public dollar, should the borough publish the terms?
