The story

Alaska's one federal AI award points at the grid, not at the new load.

278 projects on the Department of Energy's Genesis Mission list, posted July 22.

Exactly one row is Alaska's, a UAF project called AURORA-AI, Alaska Utility Resilience and Optimization using Real-time AI.

Six days later Enstar president John Sims said a winter like last year's would likely bring rolling blackouts.

Inside, the award row as published, what two utility chiefs said, and the blanks in both.

The Anchorage Daily News reported Enstar is weighing new connections, citing data center interest.

No dollar figure has been published. No description either.

So what would Alaska's one row have to be worth, in dollars, before it counts as a federal answer to this winter?
